About this Course
We all know that startups and small, developing companies drive job growth in our economy. At a startup, you could be the employee who is able to cash out your equity in five years for $1 million. In a small business, you can find a job that provides stimulation, variety, and opportunity—without spending years working your way up. In both cases, you’re likely to feel that your efforts matter and that you make an impact on the success of the company.
Despite so much growth in new and small business, traditional career advice is still structured toward large and corporate opportunities; it may not be relevant for those seeking a role in a startup. This course addresses that gap, and provides you with the resources and skills you need to successfully seek out a startup or small-business job opportunity, apply for it, and demonstrate your value to those hiring.

Dr. Dale Jasinski is a professor of entrepreneurship and a serial entrepreneur who has founded 6 organizations, four for-profit companies and two non-profits. He has successfully raised venture capital and exited a technology venture. His first venture, Automation Partners, designed and sold computer systems to law firms. Since becoming a professor, he has launched a consulting practice, a media company, and two non-profits one that provided students with an alternative to college to learn to be an entrepreneur and one that provided career transition services to current and retired professional athletes. His current new venture is an education company that provides a learning and development platform and content for online education. He is also working on a new non-profit that would provide an opportunity for college students and recent graduates to work on sustainability issues facing companies.
